The selected courses of the new ECO-RED program include the main topics on renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainability. One of the main goals of the project is to design modules, which agree with the European and Vietnamese University standards in order to allow the recognition of the credits in all universities involved in the project.
For this reason, Partners have worked in close collaboration to develop detailed syllabus and are planning joint sessions for the elaboration of didactic materials. An important step is the “training of trainers” that wants to be a moment of sharing of European competences and experiences in the energy field with the colleagues of the beneficiary Country.
A first three-day training session on Energy Management and Photovoltaic systems has been organized at the premises of the University of Cyprus, from April 5th to 7th, 2017.
Dr Katiuscia Cipri of Sapienza University of Rome offered a seminar on the “Management of Energy”, touching topics like legislation and incentives, energy audit in residential and industrial sectors, methodology, software ad certification, analysis and economic impact.
Dr George Makrides of the University of Cyprus provided in depth training on “Photovoltaic system”, analyzing legislation and market schemes, technologies and technical characteristics, building integration and design. The partners had also the opportunity to visit the laboratories hosted at the universities: 1) PV standardized performance tests, 2) Site survey and shade analysis and 3) Photovoltaic system installation.
Then the partners moved at the Jagiellonian University (Poland) for a seminar on Biomass and Biofuel (April 10th, 2017). Thanks to the close collaboration of the Faculty of Chemistry with the Lodz Technical University, Prof Agnieszka Rupert and Prof Jacek Grams were invited as speeches on “Chemical conversion of biomass”. Prof Wojciech Macyk, Vice-Dean for research and cooperation of the Faculty of Chemistry, head of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University provided a speech on “Photochemistry and photocatalysis”.
